Me the cavewoman survived another day on the paleo diet. I had every intention on having leftover tuna for breakfast but I just couldn't do it... So I got scrambled eggs from the cafe in our building. If I could just stomach hard boiled eggs, I might not have to worry about all the salt and who knows what else is in those scrambled eggs. I did have blueberries with my eggs. One cup of blueberries has 83 calories and 1 gram of protein. Do you know how much a whole cup of blueberries really is? I ate so many blueberries that I thought my teeth would turn purple.
ANd just so you know, this is a modified paleo diet. I call it the paleo plus beer diet. Yes, I know fermented beverages (especially those made from grains which are a big no no on this diet) are prohibited. But did you really think I could give up beer for a month?? Come on now -- I have almost 400 beers on my World of Beer (WOB) loyalty card... I love beer (and you can see that on my plaque at WOB)!!!!!
But I did not drink a Friday after a crappy day at work beer tonight. I stopped at the grocery store and picked up some fruit and vegetables and fish and mussels (oh yes, shellfish are paelo foods!!). I sat down to my lovely fish, mussels and salad dinner and Kay brings over her plate and what does she have??? CHEETOS!!!!! I'm surprised she didn't stop at 7 11 and pick up a Mountain Dew to tempt me with. I couldn't concentrate on my fish and mussels and salad with all that cheesy salty mouthwatering crunching going on. Thank goodness for the cell phone and the texts from CS to distract me!
